CAREER DESCRIPTION

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST II
Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION

Occupational Therapist II's who are Board Certified in Pediatric Specialist shall receive, in addition to their salary, the equivalent of three hundred fourteen dollars (314) monthly (approximately one hundred forty-five dollars (145) bi-weekly).

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This recruitment will establish an open eligible list and will be used to fill current and future Occupational Therapist II positions within the Health Care Agency. This eligible list may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.

This position is open to the public and will remain open on a continuous basis until 11:59 p.m. (PST) on the day the County's needs are met.

HEALTH CARE AGENCY
The County of Orange, Health Care Agency (HCA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to creating and supporting an environment that promotes the achievement of optimal individual, family and community health. Under the direction of the Agency Director, a new and dynamic executive team with an organizational structure comprised of five (5) service areas - Administrative Services, Behavioral Health Services, Correctional Health Services, Specialized Medical Services and Public Health Services - is committed to meeting the health needs of the diverse Orange County community.
THE PROGRAM
The California Children's Services (CCS) provides medically necessary physical and occupational therapy services to children and youths that meet various CCS and Medi-Cal eligibility criteria. The program is managed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and is administered by local county health care departments.

THE OPPORTUNITY
CCS, Medical Therapy Program (MTP) is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to provide medically necessary physical and occupational therapy services in Medical Therapy Units (MTU) located in public school settings.

Responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:



Based on program needs, the position may be assigned to any of the eleven (11) MTU locations within the county, including Anaheim (2 MTUs), Dana Point, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Placentia, Santa Ana, Tustin, and Westminster. Reassignment or coverage at other MTUs may also occur as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate will possess at least one (1) or more years of pediatric experience as an Occupational Therapist in a program for physically disabled children.

Additionally, candidates must possess a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy, a California Driver’s License, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association for professional healthcare providers by date of appointment.

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the following core competencies:

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
