Water Department - Stormwater Preventative Maintenance DivisionLocation: 1800 Prospect
Salary Range: $20.10-$30.64 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

About the role
This position supports the preventative maintenance of Kansas City Water's stormwater infrastructure. The role involves operating equipment, maintaining clean streets, and assisting with seasonal and weather-related operations to help prevent debris from entering stormwater systems.
What you'll do
- Assist in the process of preventative maintenance of Kansas City Water Utility infrastructure.
- Maintain clean streets so that debris does not end up in sewers or other outlets.
- Operate small to moderately heavy construction equipment and think critically while performing assigned tasks.
- Read City Atlas/Map books and identify utility markings accurately.
- Operate equipment for snow plowing and snow removal.

- Streets and work areas are kept clean and free of debris
- Equipment is operated safely and effectively
- Utility locations are identified correctly using maps

Qualifications
REQUIRES:- 6 months of experience in the operation of trucks and other specialized automotive equipment.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.
- May be required to possess a valid Missouri Class A, B or C CDL prior to the end of probationary period.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
