Water Department- Wastewater Trmt/Maint Division Salary Range: $20.10-$30.64 per hour
Work Location: 7300 Hawthorne Rd.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

What you'll do
- Perform a variety of maintenance jobs including pump repair and installations, inspections, and assisting maintenance mechanics in the installation of valves, blowers, pumps, and other necessary equipment to support safe and reliable operations
- Complete basin and clarifier maintenance and inspections to ensure proper system function and prevent costly breakdowns
- Apply experience in HVAC, grounds maintenance, automotive work, contractor/labor tasks, plumbing, carpentry, gas engines, machine repair, and general labor to support daily maintenance needs
- Use basic tools correctly and safely to complete assigned tasks efficiently and maintain equipment performance
- Follow instructions from supervisors, mechanics, and crew members to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule

- Equipment and systems remain operational due to consistent inspections and maintenance support

Qualifications
REQUIRES: - Completion of a trade school or a shop training program;
- OR 6 months experience in general maintenance and repair work.
- May be required to obtain a valid MO Class A,B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
- Must posses a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
