Summary

King County Parks is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Records Modernization Coordinator to support records management and modernization efforts within the Land Management team. This position plays an important role in improving how Parks organizes, maintains, and accesses critical property and land management records that support operations across the division.

About the Role:

This position supports the transition of physical and electronic records to a digital records management system in accordance with County records management policies and state requirements. The role is responsible for helping manage thousands of real property records that support Parks' ability to provide public access, operate facilities, conserve environmental resources, and maintain accurate property information.

As a member of the Land Management Unit, you will support records modernization efforts through both day-to-day records management activities and project-based work focused on improving how records are digitized, organized, stored, and accessed. You will work closely with internal partners to maintain records accuracy, evaluate technology solutions, support pilot projects, and help develop scalable approaches to records digitization and management.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to explore emerging technologies that may include Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), workflow automation, and other records management solutions.

This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

About the Team:

The Parks Land Management team supports responsible stewardship of King County Parks properties, trails, and real property assets across one of the nation’s largest regional park systems. The team manages property records, land use information, permitting coordination, and operational support activities that help ensure Parks properties are maintained, documented, and managed effectively for long-term public benefit.

The team works collaboratively across Parks sections and with other County departments to support accurate records management and is committed to continuous improvement, innovation, collaboration, and responsible stewardship of public resources.

Working Conditions:

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
