Purpose:

This position designs, administers, maintains, secures, and improves performance of complex databases.

Notes to Candidate:

The IT Database Administrator Senior is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, performance, availability, and recoverability of enterprise database systems.

This position serves as both an infrastructure and application database administrator, providing technical leadership for Oracle database environments, including Oracle RAC, ASM, and related database technologies.

Responsibilities include database installation and configuration, patching and upgrades, backup and recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, capacity planning, support of business-critical applications.

This position works closely with application teams, systems administrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure and highly available database services supporting the organization.

Work Location/Schedule:



Salary:

$85,120.00 - $109,400.00 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

This position has been designated as an Essential Employee position. Essential Employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees and ensure the continuity of essential operations. Essential employee schedules will be modified based on extraordinary situations or emergency conditions and may be assigned to report to a designated work site. Travel:
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
