Electric Foreman
Description
Position: Electric Foreman FLSA: Non-Exempt Department: Utilities - Electric Schedule: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Thursday; position is subject to after hours/overtime. Reports To: Electric Superintendent Positions Supervised: Senior Lineman, Lineman A & B, Apprentice Lineman, Lineman Helper
Job Summary
The Electric Foreman is responsible for the oversight of the overhead or underground electric crews.
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervises internal and contract overhead or underground crews.
Plans and coordinates electric construction jobs.
Meets and coordinates with developers, contractors, and the public regarding electric construction jobs.
Creates work orders, determines equipment and material needs, and inspects completed work of assigned crew members.
Completes work orders and reports related to electric construction jobs.
Enforces safety adherence to departmental, local, state, and federal regulations.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a 15kV electric utility system.
Ability to perform pole, bucket, and vault rescue in emergency situations.
Regular, reliable, and punctual levels of attendance are essential job functions and expectations of this position.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles up to 60 feet and climb in and out of workplace equipment.
Must be able to crawl, reach, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, and crouch when performing job duties.
Is required to be able to carry, balance, lift, push, pull, and reach equipment and material weighing up to 80 pounds.
Hearing and vision must be satisfactory to the degree that duties may be performed effectively and safely.
Environmental Conditions
Majority of work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled facility and outdoors; work outdoors will be required in all types of weather conditions.
Work in confined areas may be necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Seven years of overhead and underground electric utility system experience as a Class A Lineman and at least two years of supervisory experience.
Must be certified to work with voltages up to 15kV.
Must have a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Must live within 20 miles of the Parker County Courthouse due to emergency and stand-by requirements. Relocation is required within 180 days of employment if outside the 20-mile radius.
