McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. We are looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic
Recreation Leader II to join our
Special Events team. As the Valley’s premier destination for family fun, the
Railroad Park hosts five major annual community events, including our signature
Spook-Track-Ula and the award-winning
Holiday Lights, which run nightly from October through December. This full-time role plays a central part in planning, coordinating, setting up, executing, and tearing down these large-scale events that keep our community’s excitement
chugging along year after year.
In addition to leading event logistics, this position supports daily park operations, assists with train and carousel activities, conducts monthly safety inspections, issues facility work orders, and helps design and maintain event props and décor.
The role requires flexibility, creativity, and hands-on work with both physical and digital tools to deliver high-quality, memorable experiences for guests of all ages.
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required to meet the dynamic needs of the park’s special events schedule.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $25.54/hour. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience - No education required for this position.
- A minimum of six months' experience in a customer service position.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements - Must possess, at time of application, and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Motor Vehicle Department requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona. Note: Graduated Driver’s Licenses are considered restricted.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of hire or promotion.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the city, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
