Education and Experience: A High School diploma or GED, or higher, and six (6) months of customer service or public contact experience.

Licenses and Certificates : A Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

Position requires a Ropes Course Inc. certification within thirty (30) days of appointment. Ropes Course Inc. certification must be renewed every 12 months of employment.

Special Requirements : Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to obtain required Ropes Course Inc. certification.

General Purpose

Under general supervision, provide customer service and operate amusement ride and attraction.

Typical Duties

Provide customer service and assist customers. Involves: Assist customers and the general public. Welcome and greet customers. Collect admission tickets and passes from customers. Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color and date issued. Assist customers in finding available seats on amusement ride or attraction, if necessary. Provide assistance and guide customers to exits or provide other instructions as needed or in case of emergency. Provide assistance with evacuating customers from amusement ride or attraction in case of emergency. Direct customers to restrooms, concession stands and telephones. Refuse admittance to persons without tickets or passes. Notify customers of expiration period for which fee was paid to use amusement ride or attraction. Search for lost articles or items belonging to customers. Search for parents of unattended children.

Operate amusement ride or attraction. Involves: Open and close the amusement ride or attraction in accordance with daily schedule. Operate controls to start and stop amusement ride or attraction. Observe customers when boarding the amusement ride or attraction to ensure all customers are safely seated without exceeding capacity limits. Provide assistance to customers with boarding the amusement ride or attraction, if necessary. Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules such as the amusement ride or attraction seating capacity limits. Inform customers to fasten belt or other safety device. Observe customers to ensure all safety belts, harnesses or other safety devices are secure prior to operation of amusement ride or attraction. Give instructions to customers in person or over microphone. Inspect the amusement ride or attraction to ensure equipment is in working order before opening device for customers. Follow and enforce safety rules and procedures for amusement ride or attraction. Inspect amusement ride or attraction equipment to ensure items are in good and safe working order. Report irregularities, broken or loose pieces of the amusement ride or attraction equipment to supervisor and appropriate personnel for further evaluation or maintenance. Maintain records for amusement ride or attraction. Refuse admittance if amusement ride or attraction is unsafe for customer use. Use and post appropriate signs if the amusement ride or attraction is closed for maintenance. Clean amusement ride or attraction and surrounding area of the equipment for trash or debris.

Respond to customer inquiries and questions regarding amusement ride or attraction. Involves: Work directly with the public. Respond to and resolve customer complaints including admittance, amusement ride and attraction requirements and other service-related complaints courteously and professionally. Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources to identify service needs. Provide information to supervisors, coworkers, and public by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
