This full-time position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and local traffic authorities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control pedestrian traffic at designated crosswalks during school arrival and dismissal times.
- Ensure the safe crossing of students, parents, and other pedestrians.
- Communicate effectively with students and drivers to promote safety and compliance with traffic laws.
- Use hand signals and crossing signs to direct traffic and maintain order.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to school authorities or local law enforcement.
- Attend training sessions as required to stay updated on safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and local authorities to promote safety awareness.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while on duty.
- Assist in emergency situations by following established safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a safety or traffic control role is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be available to work full-time hours, including mornings and afternoons during school days.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check and any required training programs.
