Overview

The Air Conditioning Maintenance Mechanic II position under a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) Air Conditioning and Refrigeration License performs the following: diagnostics, technical troubleshooting, and/or repair of Large Commercial and Industrial HVAC systems, devices, and/or components following all Federal, State, and Local Rules and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on Large Commercial and/or Industrial HVAC elements such as: heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units including but not limited to chillers, boilers and heat pumps

• Repair wiring and electronic components associated with Automated Building Management Systems

• Acquire, store, and dispose of all required refrigerants following all applicable State, Federal, and local Rules and Regulations

• Acquire, store, and dispose of all required chemicals following all applicable State, Federal, and local Rules and Regulations

• Balance air treatment systems

• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/ to capture pertinent data, develop PMS, create WOs, provide reports, and manage workload

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Non Exempt - Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (AA/AS); or 2 year technical certificate

• T hree (3) Years of Experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

• Texas Department of Registration and Licensing (TDLR)-Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification

• EPA Certification

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

21.63-35.45 USD
