Description
Overview The Air Conditioning Maintenance Mechanic II position under a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) Air Conditioning and Refrigeration License performs the following: diagnostics, technical troubleshooting, and/or repair of Large Commercial and Industrial HVAC systems, devices, and/or components following all Federal, State, and Local Rules and Regulations.
Responsibilities • Perform Diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on Large Commercial and/or Industrial HVAC elements such as: heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units including but not limited to chillers, boilers and heat pumps
• Repair wiring and electronic components associated with Automated Building Management Systems
• Acquire, store, and dispose of all required refrigerants following all applicable State, Federal, and local Rules and Regulations
• Acquire, store, and dispose of all required chemicals following all applicable State, Federal, and local Rules and Regulations
• Balance air treatment systems
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/ to capture pertinent data, develop PMS, create WOs, provide reports, and manage workload
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Non Exempt - Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Qualifications • Associate's Degree (AA/AS); or 2 year technical certificate
• T hree (3) Years of Experience
Licenses and Certifications Required • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
• Texas Department of Registration and Licensing (TDLR)-Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification
• EPA Certification

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
