Summary
Overview Primary PurposeThe Corrections Deputy is a sworn position that is responsible for providing care, custody, and control of male, female, and juvenile offenders housed within the St. Johns County Detention Center. This position is responsible for responding to the needs of offenders while ensuring a safe and secure environment for inmates, citizens, and other employees in accordance with the agency policy, Florida Model Jail Standards, and the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission. Corrections Deputies must demonstrate professionalism and superior customer service for citizens and visitors. Within the agency, a Corrections Deputy may work a number of assignments. These assignments include: Booking, Community Work Release Center/Work Squad, Courthouse Security/Transportation, and the Main Detention Unit.Qualifications 19 Years or olderValid Florida Driver LicenseHigh School Diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)CJSTC Corrections CertificateMust not have received a dishonorable discharge from any branch of the Armed ForcesMust not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement#J-18808-Ljbffr
