Job Description:
Designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet the needs of the City’s Water Reclamation Division. Responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code in various programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript), programming and troubleshooting Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems used to monitor and control wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations, and related infrastructure. Must adhere to City and department policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of departmental managers and is subject to periodic review and evaluation. The work schedule varies according to division needs and includes some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
Systems/Networks Administrator I:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field, and one year of experience related to object-oriented, structured text, ladder logic and/or Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Systems/Networks Administrator II:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field, and two years of experience related to object-oriented, structured text, ladder logic and/or Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training and experience.
Systems/Networks Administrator III:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five years of experience related to object-oriented, structured text, ladder logic and/or Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: PLC, HMI, and SQL programming.
Desired Qualifications: Industrial Automation Control Systems (IACS). Siemens Simatic PLC programming via Siemens TIA Portal. Inductive Automation Ignition HMI programming.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
