This vital position safeguards the operational integrity of the Detention Center by maintaining meticulous inventory records, forecasting needs, preventing loss, and upholding strict security protocols. You’ll play a key role in budgetary compliance and contribute directly to the smooth operation of this essential public service.

HOURLY RANGE: $21.01 - $24.90

Duties and Responsibilities
Here are a few key responsibilities:
- Conducting regular physical inventories across various departments.
- Maintaining computerized inventory records and analyzing usage data.
- Following FIFO principles and ensuring proper stock rotation ; inspecting inventory for damage or expiration dates; removing unusable items from storage.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of inmate worker teams assigned to assist Logistics with various tasks such as unloading delivery trucks and delivering supplies to units.
Minimum Qualifications
*Must be U.S. Citizen and at least 18 years of age.
*Must have a High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree from an accredited institute preferred.
*Minimum of two (2) years or more of experience in Inventory Control, Purchasing or related fields. *Experience in a correctional facility or similar institutional setting is preferred.
*Must have working knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
*Honorably discharged from the military (if applicable).
*Have no pending cases or criminal felony convictions (misdemeanors may require expungement).
*No THC or Marijuana use within 365 days; some drugs are automatic disqualifiers.
*No student loans in default status.
*Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365.
*The Nelson-Denny Reading Test, a two-phase background investigation, a credit check, a psychological examination/evaluation, a polygraph examination, an oral interview, and upon an offer of employment, a pre-employment physical examination will be required.
*Must be able to assist disaster response teams in the event of a natural disaster as necessary.
*Must possess a valid SC Driver’s license or ability to obtain one prior to hire and meet the requirements of the County’s motor vehicle policy.
