Ferry Terminal Security Officer

Summary

Job Summary: Port Aransas Ferry
Provide security services at the Port Aransas Ferry Terminal while maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This is a public-facing role ideal for dependable, alert professionals who enjoyworking with people and responding to a variety of situations. Officers will work closely with customers, employees, contractors, and local emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Control entrances and pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings, grounds, parking areas, and property perimeters.
• Maintain a fixed post or conduct patrols as assigned.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, access-control systems, and other security equipment.
• Identify, respond to, and report suspicious activity, accidents, criminal activity, and safety concerns.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to established procedures.
• Escort authorized personnel, contractors, materials, and equipment as required.
• Inspect for security, fire, and life-safety hazards.
• Maintain awareness of activity in the assigned area.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, logbook entries, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of current post orders, emergency procedures, and site requirements.
• Operate security and life-safety equipment as assigned.
• Report security issues and recommended safety improvements to the Security Supervisor.
• Perform special assignments and other duties as directed.

• Able to follow directions, procedures, and post orders.

• Comfortable working with customers, employees, contractors, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.
• Ability to work outdoors and stand/walk for extended periods.
