Summary

AMO is looking for a Security Control Assessor - Senior (SCA) to work in support of Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Washington, D.C.ResponsibilitiesConduct independent, comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by information technology systems to determine the overall effectiveness of those controls, consistent with NIST Special Publication 800-37 and applicable security control assessment procedures.Develop and execute security control assessment activities, review supporting evidence and technical documentation, document assessment results, and communicate identified deficiencies, risks, and recommended corrective actions to system stakeholders.Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures designed to protect computer networks, information systems, and sensitive information.Assess system vulnerabilities, analyze cybersecurity threats, evaluate associated risks, and recommend or implement appropriate safeguards and risk mitigation strategies for systems progressing through the acquisition lifecycle.Evaluate whether appropriate security controls are implemented and operating effectively to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and critical electronic infrastructure within complex computing environments.Conduct cybersecurity testing and security control validation activities for systems undergoing acquisition, assessment, authorization, or continuous monitoring.Support Assess and Authorize (A&A), Computer Network Defense (CND), and related cybersecurity activities within classified and unclassified environments.Assess risks to information technology assets using available threat, vulnerability, and system information, and provide documented risk determinations and recommendations.Provide technical expertise to identify and address cybersecurity issues affecting current and planned systems, networks, system architectures, and inherited services.Support the identification, handling, documentation, reporting, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents, breaches, vulnerabilities, and other security events.Coordinate with system owners, cybersecurity personnel, engineers, developers, program leadership, and other stakeholders to resolve assessment findings and improve the system's security posture.Remain current on technological advances, evolving cybersecurity threats, applicable security requirements, and emerging analysis, mitigation, and remediation tools and techniques.Prepare documented technical recommendations regarding new technologies, cybersecurity risks, security controls, and corrective actions when appropriate.QualificationsActive Secret security clearance or higher.Ten or more years of experience implementing, upgrading, and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks, information systems, and information.Demonstrated experience assessing system vulnerabilities, performing threat and risk analysis, and recommending or implementing appropriate safeguards and risk mitigation measures.Experience handling, documenting, and reporting cybersecurity incidents, security breaches, vulnerabilities, or related security events.Experience evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of technical, operational, and management security controls.Ability to analyze technical information and clearly document assessment results, security risks, findings, and recommended corrective actions.One or more of the following DoD 8140 qualifications:Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)MS or PHD degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering.Desired QualificationsRecent experience in a validator role performing A&A, to include Test and Evaluation (T&E).Experience as a certified Navy Qualified Validator (NQV).Job ID2026-24669Work TypeOn-SitePay Range$190,000 - $199,000BenefitsRegular - The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and a range of other voluntary benefits.
