In this frontline fundraising role, you will focus on identifying, engaging, and converting new and lapsed donors at the $1,000+ level, with the goal of growing these relationships into $10,000+ major gifts over time.Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Major Gifts, you will serve as a primary driver of new business, turning community engagement into meaningful philanthropic investment. By leveraging Federation touchpoints, including community events, donor gatherings, and other engagement opportunities, you will build and sustain a strong pipeline of future donors and major gifts.This is a high-energy, externally facing role ideal for a fundraiser who thrives on prospecting, relationship-building, and closing gifts. While this position does not manage events, it plays a critical role in converting engagement into philanthropy and is designed for someone motivated by measurable growth, impact, and advancing a mission-driven organization.Pipeline Building & New Donor Acquisition• Identify, qualify, and engage new prospects with the capacity to give at the $1,000+ level and beyond.• Proactively source prospects through Federation engagement channels, including community events, donor gatherings, and other points of entry into the organization.• Develop and execute targeted strategies to convert engaged participants into first-time donors and re-engage past supporters.Donor Conversion & Upgrading• Build and execute moves management plans to cultivate and solicit donors with a focus on upgrading giving levels over time.• Drive intentional progression from $1,000 ? $5,000 ? $10,000+ through personalized outreach and strategic asks.• Maintain a strong focus on closing gifts and advancing donors through the pipeline.Portfolio Management• Manage an active portfolio of donors and high-potential prospects, ensuring consistent outreach, meaningful engagement, and timely solicitations.• Track all donor activities, strategies, and next steps within the CRM system.• Monitor performance against acquisition, retention, and upgrade goals.Strategic Prospecting & Collaboration• Partner closely with campaign, engagement, and programmatic teams to identify and prioritize high-potential prospects emerging from Federation touchpoints.• Work alongside Major Gifts team to transition qualified donors into the $10,000+ portfolio.• Collaborate with lay leaders to support relationship-building and solicitation strategies when appropriate.What You Need to Succeed• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.• Minimum 5+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management.• Demonstrated success in acquisition, conversion, or closing gifts/sales.• Strong instincts for identifying potential and moving individuals toward action.• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.• Experience with CRM systems and prospecting tools (e.g., DonorSearch, iWave) a plus.• Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a metric-driven environment.• Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends for donor meetings and community engagement.• Familiarity with and commitment to the mission and values of the Jewish Federation and the Jewish community.
