Security Officer
Be part of something new! Baptist Health Hardin is seeking Security Officers to join the team of our new Freestanding Emergency Department in Radcliff that is opening in Fall 2026.
We are currently hiring for part-time day shift (7:30am – 8pm) and night shift (7:30pm – 8:00am) positions, offering convenient 12-hour schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the facility and surrounding grounds.
- Conduct routine patrols of the building, parking areas, and campus.
- Monitor and operate the facility's weapon detection system and respond appropriately to alarms.
- Report out-of-the-ordinary or suspicious activity occurring in or around the facility.
- Respond promptly to security, safety, and medical emergencies.
- De-escalate conflicts using effective communication and sound judgment.
- Conduct investigations and complete detailed incident and security reports.
- Provide security escorts for patients, visitors, and employees as needed.
- Assist with visitor screening and facility access.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, Emergency Department staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders when appropriate.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and fellow employees while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Kentucky driver's license with a satisfactory driving record as defined by Baptist Health Hardin policy.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, military service, or a related security field.
- International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) certification preferred.
