A Sr. Flood Warning Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth, Transportation & Public Works, Stormwater Management (SWM) Division. The SWM Division is responsible for protecting the residents of Fort Worth from the harmful effects of runoff during severe storms. The Flood Warning program in SWM maintains, operates, and installs instrumented water level and weather monitoring master stations along with the remote roadside flashers that are triggered by the master stations. The Sr. Flood Warning Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the City's flood warning program while ensuring very high levels of system reliability. Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, unsanitary conditions, workspace restrictions, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor even when dealing with upset customers/citizens.

Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
