What's this Job All About?

Under the direction of a Clinical Program Manager, this position will provide Specialty Mental Health Services to clients who are struggling with mental health and substance use issues. These services will include assessment, therapy, rehabilitation, case management, plan development, and crisis services. The position will work collaboratively within our treatment team(s) and may serve a variety of client populations including youth, families, adults, justice-involved, unhoused, LPS, FSP, and Wraparound. This position will receive weekly supervision in the form of 1 hour of individual supervision and 2 hours of group supervision.

Supervision & Examples of Duties

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Therapist I:

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Director or designee, reports to and receives direction from the Clinical Program Manager and may receive technical and functional supervision from the Therapist III.

Therapist II:

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Director or designee, reports to and receives direction from the Clinical Program Manager.

THERAPIST I

Option 1:

Experience:

None.

Training:

Students currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s degree program in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a closely related field, as well as non-licensed Ph.D. or PsyD students, qualify only if they have entered the required field practicum portion of their academic program.

Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and will be required to provide information about their academic program and practicum start and end dates.

Licensing or Certifications:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.

Option 2:

Experience:

Required practicum experience in a Master’s program.

Training:

A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university, which provides the educational basis for licensing to provide psychotherapy in the State of California.

Licensing or Certifications:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.

Possession of, or applied for registration as, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern or an Associate of Clinical Social Work with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

THERAPIST II

Experience:

Two (2) years of post-graduate, increasingly responsible related experience.

Training:

A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university, which provides the educational basis for licensing to provide psychotherapy in the State of California.

Licensing and Certifications:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.

Current registration as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Science.

Supplemental Information

Salary based on a 37.5-hour workweek:
Therapist I: $4,961 - $8,135
Therapist II: $5,477 - $8,981

The salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
