Summary
Job DutiesSome of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct and supervise Law Enforcement Rangers, providing leadership, performance management, training oversight, discipline, and ensuring compliance with merit principles, EEO, safety, and ethics requirements.
- Manage the Law Enforcement Ranger Program to enforce federal laws, deter unauthorized use, protect public lands and resources, and ensure alignment with national, state, and local BLM policies.
- Develop, analyze, and implement strategies to prevent and reduce criminal activity and unauthorized use through data analysis, staffing plans, enforcement tactics, regulations, and facility improvements.
- Enforce federal and applicable state laws by conducting investigations, apprehensions, court proceedings, and special operations, maintaining operational readiness and serving as lead or incident commander when required.
- Plan, budget, and evaluate law enforcement operations, including annual work plans, staffing, equipment, agreements, and funding allocations, while advising leadership on policy, risk, and program performance.
