Summary
Seeking an experienced Site-Specific Safety Manager to lead safety oversight for a large, multi-year construction project. This role ensures strict adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations and enforces project-specific safety standards. The position requires strong field presence, proactive risk mitigation, and collaboration with contractors and project teams to maintain a zero-incident environment.
Responsibilities
- Enforce compliance with the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and safety policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NC OSHA, and applicable safety regulations.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and workforce training sessions.
- Investigate incidents/near-misses and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain safety logs, permits, inspection reports, and training records.
- Review subcontractor safety programs and verify compliance.
- Serve as on-site safety authority and coordinate risk mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in EHS or 5+ years of construction safety experience on large commercial projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
- CHST, ASP, or CSP (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong knowledge of federal/state safety regulations.
- Proven leadership, documentation, and decision-making skills.
