The 1,000-acre campus sits along the HudsonRiver and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and HesselMuseum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, thelargest college-degree-granting prison education program in theU.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School EarlyColleges across the country as well as international campuses andpartnerships. Bard faculty and staff lead their students byexample, building upon the existing network of boundary-breakingprograms focused on rethinking who can and should be included in aliberal arts education.Responsibilities:Case management and triage: Receive and review reportsand coordinate supportive measures, such as no contact orders andacademic accommodations, to ensure equal access to educationConduct trauma-informed intake: Receive complaints anddiscuss options regarding policy violations, utilizingatrauma-informed approach to ensure the process does notre-traumatize participantsProvide support: Serve as a primary point of contactfor involved parties, providing referrals to counseling, medical,and legal resourcesDevelop and facilitate campus-wide training and workshops onconsent, healthy relationships, and reportingLead awareness initiatives such as Sexual Assault AwarenessMonth, social media messaging, and poster campaignsBuild relationships across campus in an effort to furtherdevelop trust between the office and the Bard communityMaintain detailed case documentation to track trends and ensureadherence to federal (Title IX, VAWA, Clery) and New York State(129-B) lawsFacilitate informal resolution processes, such as mediation orrestorative justice, when appropriate and agreed upon by allpartiesAdminister the biennial Sexual and Related Misconduct/Title IXClimate Survey and assist in the periodic review of institutionalpoliciesCollaborate with the Dean of Student Affairs, Safety andSecurity, Residence Life and Housing, the Dean of the College, andlegal counsel to maintain a coordinated response to campusincidentsQualifications:Bachelor's degree required3–5 years of experience in investigative work, student conduct,or counseling, specifically working with trauma or sexualmisconductKnowledge of Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, and FERPAProficiency in trauma-informed interviewingExperience with Google Workspace and case management software,such as MaxientExceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to managehighly sensitive, confidential information and de-escalatehigh-pressure situationsAbility to present educational programs and/or workshopsUnquestionable integrity, confidentiality, and professionalismin a wide variety of situationsStrong organizational, planning, and administrative skills;with the ability to work on numerous matters at onceAbility to work effectively with a wide range of constituenciesin a diverse communityPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree (MSW, JD, or Master's in Higher Education Administration/Counseling)Experience implementing Restorative Justice practicesCommitment to the goals of a liberal arts education and workingwith a diverse communityCompensation:$70,000-$75,000 annuallyThis salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonableestimate of the compensation for the position at the time of thejob posting.
