San Bernardino County’s SPARK Youth Employment Program is a paid work experience. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their interests and career pathways, develop workplace skills and engage in learning experiences that will help in developing their social, civic and leadership skills.

• Youth aged 16-21

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Paid Work Experience
Participants earn while they learn, gaining hands-on experience in real-world job settings. Participants may work up to 520 total hours during the program period, either full-time or part-time, depending on their assignment and department needs. Schedules and hours may vary based on placement.
Skill Building Workshops
S essions on resume writing, interview techniques, career paths, and workplace etiquette.
Mentorship Opportunities
Guidance from experienced professionals who provide insights and advice.
Career Exploration
Exposure to diverse industries and career paths.
Community Impact
Participants contribute to County initiatives, strengthening community ties.
Certification of Completion
Participants who finish the program will earn a certificate to enhance their future employment prospects with the County.

Minimum Requirements

Program Requirements : Must be 16 to 21 years of age between September 2026 - April 2027.Must be a resident of San Bernardino County. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must obtain an approved work permit prior to the first day of employment (if under the age of 18). Must be able to provide proof of identification.
