Position Description
Performs routine repetitive clerical work involving receipt and custody of cash and/or checks and frequently involves the operation of a cash register or computer.

Major/Essential Functions
THIS IS A PRN POSITION to cover for staff when they are out

• Greet customers, answer basic questions, check the computer system for prescription readiness/ status and direct medical and insurance inquires to the pharmacy technician or pharmacist.
• Operate the point-of-sale cash register, handle cash and credit card payments, and issue accurate change and receipts.
• Locate and pull filled prescription bags and verify basic patient identifying information such as name and date of birth.
• Answer phone calls and triage non-professional inquires and enter basic patient demographic data while protecting patient privacy under HIPAA guidelines.
• Keep checkout counter clean and assist with general pharmacy duties.

Required Qualifications
Completion of high school or the equivalent plus one year experience, preferably in the receipt and disbursement of funds.
