Position Description The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension includes highly trained and experienced faculty that specialize in the management of a variety of kidney-related issues ranging from electrolyte disturbances, acid-base disorders, hypertension, kidney stones, glomerulonephritis, toxicities, chronic kidney disease, and other rare and complex disorders to comprehensive kidney transplant care and expertise.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions - Performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic kidney diseases, provide ongoing monitoring and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families about kidney health and disease prevention.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and works as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in teaching and lectures for fellows, residents and medical students.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications - MD/DO or equivalent.
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, an ACGME accredited Nephrology Fellowship.
- Ability to obtain a Texas License.
- Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OR Equivalency Certification.
