Position Summary Under the direction of the Lead Custodian and area manager(s) the incumbent performs cleaning maintenance assignments in various University buildings and external spaces.
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,680 per month - $4,951 per month
Hiring Range : $ 3,680 per month. Initial appointment not anticipated to exceed $ 3,680 per month.

Time Base: Full-Time
Pay Plan: 12 month
Work Hours: Three work schedules are available. Schedule will be assigned by management at time of hire.
1) SUN 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM; MON - THUR, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM 2) TUE - FRI, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, SAT 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM 3) MON - FRI, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AMDepartment Information: Facilities Management is the steward for the University buildings, infrastructure, grounds and landscape. Minimum Qualifications: Abilities:
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Some positions may require ability to move up to 50 pounds.
License:
Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver’s license.
Required Qualifications:Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of common custodial procedures and methods Knowledge of safe cleaning practices Ability to provide excellent customer service Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse environment. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community

Physical Requirements:
8. Ability to occasionally move (lift/carry) up to 50 pounds of equipment/supplies in a safe manner
License Requirements:
9. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications: 10. Related janitorial/custodial experience working in a higher education, school district, or other institutional environment.
Required Licenses/Certifications:Valid California Driver's License and maintenance of safe driving record required.
