SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Public Health Bureau has an opening for a part-time (0.5) Occupational Therapist-Physical Handicapped Children (PHC) in the California Children’s Services (CCS) Program. The Occupational Therapist-PHC delivers a full range of occupational therapy services to physically handicapped children including evaluation, planning, and providing OT treatment to children with physical disabilities. The Occupational Therapist (OT) works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, physical and speech therapists, social workers, nutritionists, school personnel, and outside agencies to meet the therapy needs of the children served by the CCS Medical Therapy Program (MTP). The mission of the CCS MTP is to maximize the quality of life for special needs children through the provision of Physical and Occupational Therapy services including ongoing assessment, treatment and consultation to the child, family, and community.

Sign-On Bonus: As of September 8, 2023, the Health Department may offer up to a $10,000 signing bonus to candidates hired into regular full-time positions for this classification from this recruitment (24/50F23/06PH).

Experience: Approximately two (2) years of experience as a registered occupational therapist, preferably providing therapy to physically handicapped children.
