Description

Position Scope

APPLICATION REVIEW, INTERVIEWS, AND CANDIDATE SELECTION MAY OCCUR PRIOR TO THE CLOSING DATE

GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision, performs difficult professional and intermediate administrative work managing the design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP); the development and implementation of service and construction contracts and the development of comprehensive construction documents. Work involves considerable interaction with higher-level City management, administrators, outside local, state, and federal agencies, and engineering and construction firms working for the city. Most of the work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Project Management Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications & Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Engineering Management or related field, and considerable experience in project management in public works related infrastructure such as sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution systems, stormwater sewer collection systems, roadway systems, pump stations, water production plants, and wastewater plants or related field.; OR and equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: A Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the ability to obtain an Arizona P.E. within one (1) year; certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or equivalent.
