The Nevada County Public Health Department promotes the health of the entire community through varied programs ranging from control of communicable diseases and coordination of the response to health emergencies to individual case management to primary prevention of disease and wellness promotion. The Truckee Clinic Practitioner organizes, directs and provides a spectrum of primary health care and other clinical services for clients in a general or specialized health clinic, under immediate supervision of the Director of Public Health Nursing. Our Clinic Practitioners work collaboratively with the Public Health Officer in the formulation and implementation of selected policies, standardized procedures, and professional protocols related to assigned functions. They oversee, direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of health care delivery, performing related work as required. Our Truckee office is seeking a 0.5 FTE Clinic Practitioner, a classification combining the professions of Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant.

Incumbents may be assigned to different areas of specialty, consistent with their academic and clinical training. Incumbents provide health care services and perform clinical procedures requiring possession of advanced knowledge and skills and the exercise of a high degree of clinical judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Medical direction is received from a licensed physician, and administrative direction from a program manager and director.

Retirement
The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and also provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.
