The Fleet Management Department is recruiting for a Fleet Service Worker to write work orders, identify repair requirements, manage sublets and provide excellent customer service.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Fleet Management Department provides vehicles, equipment, and services to the officials and employees of the County so that they may, in turn, provide services that promote health, safety, well being, and quality of life to the residents of San Bernardino County. Fleet Management provides services for the majority of county vehicles and equipment. Services include the acquisition, maintenance, repair, modification, and disposal of vehicles and other related equipment. San Bernardino County Sheriff and Special Districts Departments are authorized to operate their respective fleets independent of Fleet Management. Fleet Management continuously strives to meet customers’ needs. High customer satisfaction will ensure a stable/increasing customer base for the department that will support the lowest possible unit cost distribution to county departments. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Availability: Positions are subject to 24-hour call back to support operational emergencies.

Background: A background investigation and fingerprint check will be required prior to appointment.

Physical: Position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend and work above the shoulder, must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds.

License: Must possess a valid California Class C driver license at time of hire. Based on assignment, incumbents may need to obtain and maintain a valid California Class B driver license. Indicate CA license number, class, and expiration date on Application and Supplemental Questionnaire.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: Two (2) years of experience repairing gas and diesel vehicles, which included one (1) year of experience writing repair orders, researching flat rate time, and estimating repair costs.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with FASTER Asset Solutions and SAP Software is highly desirable.
