The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Supervising Custodians who assign, assist, train, and inspect the work of hospital custodians. Duties include preparing work schedules, evaluating work performance, training new employees, and monitoring the work of hospital custodian staff.

The eligible list will only be used to fill vacancies at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Extra-Help positions are also available. Applicants must indicate a willingness to accept an extra-help position which does not offer benefits but will offer a higher salary.

ARMC has an urgent need to fill extra-help and regular Supervising Custodian positions. Please indicate your interest and availability to work on the supplemental questionnaire. Accepting an extra-help position will not affect your status to be considered for regular positions.

Extra-help positions are paid at a higher salary and are in the Unclassified Service which serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. These positions participate in the County's Part-time Seasonal Temporary (PST) Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits. Candidates selected for Extra-Help positions are not precluded from being considered for full-time positions and may remain on the eligible list for full-time employment.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must successfully pass a background check which includes fingerprinting and verification of employment history.

Shift Availability: Candidates must be available to work all shifts; day, swing, night, rotating, holidays and weekends. Please indicate your willingness to work all shifts in the Supplemental Questionnaire. Graveyard shifts are also available. Please indicate your willingness to work a graveyard shift in the Supplemental Questionnaire. Shift Differentials may apply.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible custodial experience in a school, hospital, office building, detention facility or large workshop environment, of which at least one (1) year must have been in a hospital or medical facility.

NOTE : Applicants must clearly describe qualifying custodial experience on the application.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have lead or supervisory custodial experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting.
