Job SummaryThe Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is recruiting for Camp Supervisors needed for the following summer camps:
- Jamboree (South Greenville Recreation Center)
- Playground Program (Greenfield Terrace Park)
- Rec. Plus (Boyd Lee Park)
- Eppes Recreation Center Day Camp
Camps run from June 16 to August 1, 2025, you may apply for more than one camp.
There is no camp on June 19 and July 4. Minimum Age: 18 years old (as of May 13, 2025)
Pay Rate: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour
All staff are expected to attend mandatory training on the dates listed below:

Examples of DutiesJamboree at South Greenville Recreation Center Hours: Must be available to work a varied schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Assists campers ages 6-12 in following a schedule of activities such as trips, swimming, bowling, skating, crafts, games, and other activities. Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the maximum utilization and supervision of 2-4 counselors and leading the daily camp activities. Maintains and acquires the necessary operating materials or supplies with approval of Recreation Supervisor; and other duties as assigned.
Playground Program (Greenfield Terrace Park) Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
Plans and coordinates daily activities which include gardening activities, arts and crafts and team building games for children ages 6 -12 years old. Responsible for coordinating and supervising 2-4 counselors. Maintains and acquires the necessary operating supplies with approval of Recreation Supervisor; and other duties as assigned.
Must possess a creative imagination in arts and crafts and team building games. Must be willing to participate in the camp's garden.
Rec Plus Camp (H. Boyd Lee Park) Hours: Must be available to work between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Daily guidance of campers ages 5-10; leads and participates in camp activities; assists other counselors; teaches sport skills; supervises at the swimming pool; supervises field trips; assists in daily activities; leads group games and art projects; and other duties as assigned.
Camp Escape (Drew Steele Center) Hours: Must be available to work between 78:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Daily guidance of campers ages 5-21; leads and participates in camp activities; assists other counselors; teaches sport skills; supervises at the swimming pool; supervises field trips; assists in daily activities; leads group games and art projects; and other duties as assigned.
Eppes Recreation Center Day Camp Hours: Must be available to work a varied schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications- Previous experience in summer camp setting preferred.
- Previous related experience (paid or volunteer), such as in a school, camp, daycare, or recreational setting preferred.
- College graduate with some supervisory experience preferred for all supervisory positions.
Knowledge of: - promoting good conduct and acting as a role model for campers.
- presenting a mature professional demeanor.
Skilled in: - working in a team environment.
Ability to: - train, supervise, and motivate counselors and maintain a quality summer recreation program.
- maintain effective and courteous working relationships with campers, parents, employees, community organization partners, and the general public.
- understand and abide by Greenville Recreation and Parks Department policies and procedures.
Special Requirements- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by N.C. or another state.
- Valid CPR and First Aid/AED certifications are required prior to the start of camp.
Regular part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for benefits.
