AN ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST is responsible for performing a combination of the following essential job functions:


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
California State Certificate of Registration as an Engineering Geologist*.


LICENSE:

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

SPECIAL INFORMATION:
* A valid State of California Registration as a Professional Geologist (PG) holding the certification in Engineering Geology (EG) will also be accepted.

PHYSICAL CLASS: Physical Class III - Moderate: This class requires that the incumbent stand or walk most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:

This examination will consist of TWO (2) parts:

PART I : A multiple choice and/or simulation assessment(s), weighted at 60%, assessing:

MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

PART II: An evaluation of training and experience, weighted 40% , assessing:
Technology Application Leadership Project Management CANDIDATES MUST ACHIEVE A PASSING SCORE OF 70% OR HIGHER ON THE COMBINED SCORES FOR PART I AND PART II IN ORDER TO BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE REGISTER.

NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY 12 MONTHS.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:
The names of candidates receiving a passing grade in the examination will be placed on the eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.

Applications will be processed on an as- received basis and promulgated to the eligible register accordingly.
