Description BE A PART OF OUR JUNIOR MUSEUM TEAM! The Guest Services Assistant (Arts & Science Technician - H), under the supervision of the Guest Services Operations Lead, is tasked with regular computer data entry and clerical duties, which include cash handling and answering phone calls. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to guests and calls for someone who appreciates engaging with the public and children. Previous experience in customer service and cash handling is essential for this role.

Schedule: This role requires weekday and weekend availability depending on need.
This is an SEIU Hourly (limited-benefits) position that is budgeted to not exceed 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
( In lieu of providing a medical plan, the City grants a medical stipend of $3.80 per hour in paid status)
Essential DutiesEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Perform routine and repetitive computer data entry tasks.
- Handle clerical tasks, including cash handling and phone answering.
- Provide expert customer service to visitors, ensuring a positive experience.
- Assist customers with purchasing tickets and memberships.
- Enroll customers in classes and programs.
- Scan tickets for appropriate entry days and times.
- Respond to customer emails with inquiries about tickets, memberships, classes, and facility details.
- Direct customers to classrooms for programs and birthday parties.
- Work both weekday and weekend shifts as required.
- Enjoy interacting with the public and children.
- Utilize prior experience in customer service and cash handling effectively.
Minimum QualificationsSufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge and skills, which would typically be acquired through: - High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
