SummaryMinimum Starting: $19.63 per hour - Depending on Qualifications City of Waco Seeks

In this role, you will be a vital part of our mission to provide engaging and enriching recreation activities and events for residents of all ages at the Dewey Community Center. As the first point of contact for customer service, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on community members while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment at our facilities.
Minimum Qualifications Required: - HS Diploma or GED
- 2 years of Recreation Experience
- Associates Degree in a related field can substitute for years of experience
- Valid Driver's License
- First Aid/ CPR certification - required within 180 days
- Food Handlers Card - required within 180 days
Job Summary Under close supervision, assists in the delivery of City recreation programs and events.
Essential Functions - Provides and promotes recreation activities and events for City residents; sets up recreation sites and facilities for events and scheduled programs; maintains equipment and facilities in clean and safe conditions duties may vary according to job assignment.
- Provides first point of contact for customer service.
- Organizes recreation activities, supervises program participants and enforces rules, regulations and safety precautions at indoor and outdoor facilities; maintains discipline, monitors behavior and resolves issues.
- Develops promotional media for events and special programs; tutors youth and assists with schoolwork.
- Reports and resolves complaints, requests, safety conditions, security issues and illegal activities.
