Description:

Jefferson County is seekin g a Budget and Strategy Director who is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, preparation, and oversight of the county's annual budget, capital and strategic plans. This position p rovides direction and technical coordination in developing financial outcomes, strategic goals and measures, budget policies, grants, preparing multi-year forecasts, performing high level fiscal analysis, and preparing financial reports to county leadership.



Th e Budget and Strategy Director reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and offer s guidance to leadership and other government entities on budget process and implementation strategies. This position m onitors the overall financial health of the county, seeks opportunities for revenue diversification for long term sustainability, and fosters a countywide culture of financial stewardship. Provides strategic financial analysis and makes appropriate recommendations related to various county initiatives. Prepares for the adoption of the annual budget by resolution and develops resolutions through the year to amend the budget. Certifies the mill levies annually. Participates in the development and achievement of countywide goals and objectives .

SCHEDULE :

This position operates on a four-day work week (Monday-Thursday) with occasional Fridays and evenings, when necessary . This position is hybrid, with both remote work and in-office work as needed.

COMPENSATION :

Hiring Range: $140,000 - $155,000 USD Annual

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.
