The Job

This recruitment is only open to current San Bernardino County, San Bernardino County Fire Protection District , or Special Districts employees who hold a regular, contract, extra-help, recurrent, Public Service Employee (PSE), Work Experience Program (WEX) or intern position. Former PSE, WEX, or interns are eligible to apply up to 6 months from the end of their assignment.

The Welfare-to-Work (WTW) program of the Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) is recruiting for Supervising Employment Services Specialists (SESS) who serve as first-line supervisors for a unit of Employment Services Specialists and other staff engaged in the delivery of employment development and training-related customer services for the CalWORKs program. Supervising Employment Services Specialists also interpret rules, regulations and policies, and make recommendations regarding improving work methods, policies and procedures.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT



Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet both the Experience and Education requirements. E xperience must be clearly detailed in the Work Experience section of the Application
Experience Option 1: Two (2) years of professional and/or administrative full-time work experience, within the last five (5) years , performing duties equivalent to those of an Employment Services Specialist in San Bernardino County.

-OR-

Option 2: Two (2) years of full-time work experience, within the last five (5) years , performing duties equivalent to those of an Eligibility Worker Supervisor in San Bernardino County.

Note: All experience must have been obtained in a California Department of Social Services. Education
Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units completed college coursework in one of the following fields: behavioral/social science, business/public administration, English, math, humanities, administration of justice, or a closely related field.

NOTE : A list of completed college coursework or legible transcripts MUST be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess a completed Associate's degree or higher in one the qualifying fields listed above.

Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Completion of the County of San Bernardino Management and Leadership Academy (MLA) will be accepted toward the required coursework on the basis of 4 quarter units of credit per MLA track completed.
