Job Location: Harry S. Truman Building, 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 - Missouri Division of Tourism, Department of Economic Development
Why you’ll love this position:The Film Office Public Relations and Marketing Specialist works within the Division of Tourism to support the mission of the Missouri Film Office, and its director, to attract film, television, and commercial productions and promote Missouri as a top location for filming. This position supports a wide range of functions including social media management, graphic design, copywriting, advertising, website content, event coordination, site visit coordination, and some public speaking.
• Social Media Management:
• Plan campaigns for Instagram, select images, write copy, and schedule posts that align with those campaigns
• Monitor Google alerts for relevant articles to share on Facebook and LinkedIn
• Respond to messages on the social media pages
• Track analytics and brainstorm plans to increase traction across accounts
• Light video editing
• Paid Advertising:
• Design ads for film industry related magazines, websites, and film festivals
• Coordinate with ad sales teams from various organizations
• Coordinate with accounting team to make sure invoices are paid efficiently
• Website Management:
• Maintain the WordPress site of mofilm.org
• Troubleshoot technical issues
• Write articles for the News Section and coordinate with interns or freelancers on their articles
• Event Coordination:
• Administer the Missouri Stories Scriptwriting Fellowship Competition while submissions are open and the reading period commences in the Fall and Winter
• Plan and coordinate the fellowship weekend
• Represent Missouri at film industry events, festivals, conferences, and trade shows
• Assist with preparation and on-site management of Film Office events, including networking events for Missouri-connected filmmakers in LA and NYC
• Maintain and promote a database of in-state film events and screenings
• Coordinate and participate in special projects as requested by the Film Office Director
• Perform other related work as assigned
Qualifications:• At least four (4) years of relevant experience. This can be obtained through a combination of work experience in public relations, film, multimedia, communications, or a related field and/or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, marketing or a closely related field

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. • Passionate about the state of Missouri and the film industry
• Some knowledge of the film industry, i.e. understanding of set jobs, equipment, etc.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to meet deadlines
• Teamwork and excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other industry related software
• Graphic design experience
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
