The Division or Finance and Administrative Services (DFAS) is seeking applications for an Administrative Support Professional (Fleet Manager) to join our team. This position is responsible for fleet management for approximately 650 vehicles. Eligible applicants must possess a valid Missouri Driver’s License.

Annual Salary Range: $ 55,735.44

Job Location: The base for this position could be located in one of the four locations: Jefferson City, Kansas City, Springfield or St. Louis.

What you’ll do:

• Plan, coordinate and/or direct a variety of activities related to fleet.

• Plan, establish, and direct a centralized fleet management program which monitors and controls the safe, reliable, and cost-effective utilization and maintenance of vehicles.

• Coordinate all aspects of vehicle placement and repairs.

• Manage the maintenance and repair of vehicles; implements and monitors procedures minimizing the number of repairs; coordinates the sharing of resources and the consolidation of maintenance facilities.

• Evaluate options related to acquiring vehicles, such as buying, leasing, renting, and life cycle costing.

• Oversee fleet maintenance programs; ensures on-going maintenance of assigned vehicles.

• Work to resolve issues related to contractor non-performance.

• Supervision is received from an administrative supervisor; however, the employee is expected to exercise a high degree of initiative and independence.

• The Department of Social Services provides support for mass care activities in the preparation for and during emergencies; this position may also be assigned emergency management duties that include trainings and exercises, staffing the State Emergency Operations Center during disasters, and participation in meetings and/or committees; and will be a backup for the Safety committee.

• Perform other related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

4-6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and principles.

• Intermediate knowledge of state rules, regulations, and procedures governing bids, leases, and contracts.

• Intermediate knowledge of supply sources and approved methods of obtaining required materials efficiently and economically.

• Intermediate knowledge of the principles and practices of the agency’s system of fiscal controls and procedures.

• Ability to analyze programs and develop recommendations for improvement.

• Ability to estimate the operating needs of a large state agency.

• Ability to communicate effectively.
