Description

Overview

The District Attorney’s Office for the 8th Judicial District is seeking a dedicated Deputy District Attorney to prosecute motor vehicle theft and related major crimes, including violent and organized offenses involving stolen vehicles. These grant-funded roles are part of a statewide initiative in partnership with the Colorado District Attorney’s Council. They will specialize in auto theft, collaborating closely with law enforcement, victims, and fellow prosecutors.

While based in the 8th Judicial District, these attorneys will also serve the 13th (Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, Yuma, Kit Carson), 14th (Grand, Moffat, Routt), and 19th (Weld) Judicial Districts. The position involves significant travel across these regions to handle cases from investigation through trial and sentencing. In addition to prosecuting cases, these attorneys will support ongoing investigations, help build strong evidentiary cases, and provide training to law enforcement and legal professionals on current auto theft laws and legal standards.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in criminal law, especially property crimes, and a strong commitment to public safety.
