Job Summary Provides support for Bryan Texas Utilities ( BTU ) in the design and operation of the Electric Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition ( SCADA ) System and the Outage Management System ( OMS ). Essential Job Functions
Ensures the availability, reliability, integrity, and usability of the SCADA System and the Outage Management System, and the information and processes contained within these systems.
Ensures BTU’s compliance with all applicable Transmission and Distribution regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Regularly performs audits in order to evaluate compliance.
Acts as a bridge between the SCADA and OMS systems and the end-users.
Understands and performs technical functions needed to design, configure, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot the SCADA and OMS systems and the processes and support applications associated with the systems.
Plans and supports all phases of moderately complex projects.
Supports multiple, complex and/or advanced application systems, business processes, and projects; performs research on upgrades/alternatives and recommends improvements as needed.
Maintains understanding of future direction of application system technologies/products and participates in the determination of tactical and strategic upgrades necessary to meet business requirements.
Analyzes current or proposed business procedures and/or problems to define long-term strategic requirements and short-term solutions.
Reviews, analyzes, develops, designs and implements methods to satisfy internal and external reporting needs and requirements; utilizes personal computer and software for both calculation and informational reporting.
Maintains familiarity with all regional and federal requirements and all internal policies, plans and procedures that apply to BTU Transmission and Distribution.
Maintains relationships with auditors and industry peers to facilitate information exchange.
Acts as a subject matter expert for NERC Compliance Requirements as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responds regularly and promptly to work.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or similar technical field of study plus at least sic (6) years of work experience involving network administration and/or SCADA systems; OR a Master’s degree plus at least four (4) years of work experience as previously listed; OR an equivalent combination of related education, experience, certification, and training.
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements
Texas Class C driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
Responds to after hours call-outs or emergencies as required.
Salary:
$81,000-$101,000/year (depending on qualifications)
