An Employee Relations Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Human Resources department within the Employee and Labor Relations division. You will play a vital role in promoting a positive work environment by providing guidance and support to management and employees on workplace issues, conflict resolution, and policy compliance. The Employee Relations Supervisor will oversee a team of Employee Relations professionals and support the consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the organization. We are seeking a team member who is collaborative, solution-oriented, and committed to fostering a respectful and productive workplace for all employees.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or related field
- Four (4) years of human resources experience, including one year of supervisory responsibility
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in Employee Relations with a municipality or government organization
- Certification in Employee Relations Investigations or Human Resources
- Experience tracking metric and key performance indicators applicable to Employee Relations to inform data-drive decisions
The Employee Relations Coordinator job responsibilities include: - Supervises staff (two (2) Sr. HR Analysts), which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; Provide guidance and assistance on their daily duties, and provide feedback and support related to their performance; Provide consultation and guidance for their work related to Employee Relations issues and assist at times in reviewing their work product, assisting them in completing their workload or providing backup support to them.
- Providing guidance and support to the departments assigned to. This includes interpreting policies, providing guidance on past practice and appropriate processes to follow, and appropriate actions to take in handling discipline, performance, and other Employee Relations issues. Consult with Legal when appropriate.
- Assist departments on disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions, terminations, mandatory Employee Assistance Programs, performance improvement plans, expectations letters and other Employee Relations related actions. Consult with Legal when appropriate.
- Conduct investigations related to misconduct, discrimination, harassment and retaliation. This also includes providing support to departments on their internal investigations and working with our investigation third-party partner on investigations they conduct. Consult with Legal when appropriate.
- Conduct investigations into Disciplinary Action appeals. Responsible for the step 1(b) process, looking into actions appealed by employees and determining if those actions were appropriate. Consult with Legal when appropriate.
- Handle Employee Relations projects like the implementation of new software/vendors, changing of processes and revising the PRRS or other policies. Monitors contract compliance and supporting vendors we utilize and partner with on Employee Relations functions, like investigations, mediators and system software.
- Administrative support for development and implementation of goals, and objectives; Key Performance Indicators, Exit Interviews; utilizing our software. Participating in or creating content for HRC/MRC meetings, NEOP Training, Supervisory Training, and other Ad hoc training.

Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
