Two Water Systems Specialist positions are available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department/ Plant Operations Division. The selected candidate will supervise, coordinate, and review the work of subordinate employees responsible for operating the Dryer Facility or the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility and other related facilities; review daily reports related to work performed by employees; inspect and ensure proper operation of all Biosolids treatment plant processes and related facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure that operational, maintenance, and safety procedures are followed at all times; initiate corrective actions to ensure process efficiency; inspect work in progress; provide advice and assistance to technical staff as necessary.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.

Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
