This position will be located at the Lewis & Clark State Office Building in Jefferson City, Missouri. In this role, you will help communities across Missouri improve their drinking water sources and infrastructure and become resilient to flooding through the Multipurpose Water Resources Fund and Flood Resiliency Fund.

• Lead the Integrated Planning Unit within the Surface Water Section.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support for the unit.
  • Help identify and achieve the strategic goals of the Surface Water Section.
• Supervise projects, programs, and studies contributing toward achieving the goals of the Missouri Water Resources Plan
• Lead and coordinate work on Missouri River flood risk and resiliency projects, including engagement with local sponsors and federal partners
• Provide day-to-day supervision of the Multipurpose Water Resources Fund and the Flood Resiliency Improvement Fund
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Missouri water resources, engineering, and/or hydrology topics.
• Support Water Resources Center activities in preparation for and in response to flooding and drought events.

To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• A strong background and experience in water resources issues and topics.

Preferred qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Biology, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.
• Four or more years of professional experience in environmental regulatory work, engineering, environmental science, geology, hydrology, or a closely related natural resources area.
• Licensure as a professional engineer in Missouri.
• Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.

Salary:

$64,034-$71,493 per Year
