MKTG 454: Social Media Marketing

The Department of Marketing at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2025 to teach MKTG 454: Social Media Marketing.

Course Summary

This course introduces students to key concepts and tactical considerations in social media marketing. It focuses on how social platforms can be leveraged to build brand presence, foster customer relationships, and support personal branding. Topics include community and location-based networks, content creation and sharing, viral marketing, social influence, and collaborative online tools. The course also explores broader digital marketing trends, including mobile marketing and e-commerce. Emphasis is placed on understanding consumer interactions in social environments, developing effective social media strategies, and tracking their impact.
