Job Summary

TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor

SRN S15: $8,294 - $11,580 Monthly, Exempt

Bargaining Unit: ASSET

Department: Operations & Maintenance

Section: Warehouse

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Supervises the following positions: Technical and administrative staff

DEFINITION : Under direction, plans, schedules, assigns, reviews and supervises the work of staff performing centralized, off-site and satellite warehouse duties within the Purchasing and Contracts Division; plans, and coordinates a comprehensive inventory management program to ensure materials are available for District operations; coordinates assigned services and operations with those of other District divisions and outside agencies; provides staff assistance to management staff in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required.

Essential Functions

EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff providing support to warehousing and storage function of the Purchasing and Contracts division; trains staff in work procedures; evaluates employee performance, counsels employees, and effectively recommends initial disciplinary action; assists in selection and promotion.Participates in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for assigned services and programs; recommends and implements policies and procedures including standard operating procedures for assigned operations.Monitors activities of the work unit; identifies opportunities for improving service delivery and procedures; provides recommendations concerning process changes; reviews with appropriate management staff; implements improvements.Coordinates assigned services and operations with those of other divisions and outside agencies.Participates in annual budget preparation; identifies resource needs; prepares detailed cost estimates with appropriate justifications; monitors expenditures. Provides staff assistance to management; prepares and presents staff reports and other written materials; supervises the establishment and maintenance of reports, records, databases, and files; ensures the proper documentation of operations and activities.Creates and oversees the warehousing and distribution process including receiving, labeling, and proper and safe storage of incoming shipments; ensures high performance of multiple warehouse storage and shipment processes.Monitors and updates relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing; reviews, compares, analyzes, and approves products; manages inventory levels and maintains accurate purchase and pricing records.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Licenses: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in warehouse and inventory operations. Two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Education : Equivalent to a High School diploma.
