Description
IntroductionSan Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services is seeking full-time, board-certified psychiatrists to provide mental health treatment. The mission of Behavioral Health Services is to partner with the community to provide integrated, culturally and linguistically competent mental health and substance abuse services to meet the prevention, intervention, and treatment and recovery needs of San Joaquin County residents.
Highlights: - Regular and predictable schedules, including rotating on-call expectations, with excellent support staff on-hand.
- Treat a wide variety of cases, with ample opportunity for patient education and follow-up.
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and provide psychiatric consultation and treatment for a diverse population of patients.
- Work collaboratively with the mental health staff, medical staff and pharmacy staff to ensure delivery of high quality, reliable mental health treatment.

• Board eligible in Psychiatry, board-certified preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in California.
• DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
• Experience in forensic psychiatry or correctional healthcare preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: • Board-certified in Psychiatry.
• Experience with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
• Comfortability with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to correctional healthcare.

$372,434 annual base salary - 2.5% increase effective August 2025. Competitive Benefits.
