Position Description

The Fresno County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector's officeinvites applications for the position of Deputy Auditor-Controller.

The Deputy Auditor-Controller assists the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector in the administration of the following major accounting functions of the department: general accounting; financial statement preparation, reporting, and analysis; internal audits; property tax and cost accounting; and payroll management. The incumbent reviews current policies, procedures, and goals of the major divisions and consults with and receives direction from the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector on policy and legal matters; and may act for the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field with at least 24 semester units or 36 quarter units of accounting coursework that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.

Experience : Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience served in a management or supervisory capacity, in an accounting and/or financial setting, which included the supervision of professional accounting/financial staff.

License : Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

Note : Recruitment and/or certification may be limited to candidates possessing a specific education, license, and/or experience background related to the specific position vacancy as authorized by the Director of Human Resources.
