Position DescriptionThe Enterprise Network Engineer II's scope of responsibility includes providing primary support for the operation of enterprise-level technology used by enterprise-wide mission-critical systems and infrastructure. This position may also assist with training team members and manage technical projects. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.
Major/Essential Functions- Maintain, support & install TTUHSC Network, audi0-visual, and conferencing infostructure.
- Facilitates AV/IT projects on the Abilene Campus
- Maintain Technical Skills and knowledge
- Configure & maintain all network and AV equipment and related servers
- Detect & diagnose telecommunication systems and component malfunctions/failures, and work with service providers to ensure timely service restorations
- Prototyping, testing, and certifying communication processes and services
- Position will require a strong ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgments based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities, as well as a strong ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, HSC staff and students.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
