This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. - Prioritize excellent customer service for wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Install, maintain, and repair different types of commercial building locks as well as fabricate and duplicate keys.
- Alter, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace a variety of locks, locking devices, doors, door closures, and associated structures.
- Maintain and adequate an appropriate stock of locksmith supplies and equipment in an organized, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
- Establish and maintain a record of documentation for installed locks, doors keyed alike and separate, key identification/coding systems, and personnel assigned keys.
- Complete a variety of semi-skilled carpentry projects including painting, installation of trim, repair of walls, flooring, and other related fixtures.
- Perform a variety of building, equipment, maintenance-related tasks in the form of preventative and corrective work orders, and written or verbal instructions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Operate under general supervision; receive and act upon direction, guidance, and feedback on performance for continuous improvement.
- Answer after hours emergency calls and travel to other facilities to provide assistance and resolve concerns.
- Provide coverage at state facilities after hours and/or for emergency purposes (i.e., severe weather, snow removal, water leaks, fire, and more) to ensure facilities and grounds are properly maintained and cleared for team members and the public to conduct state business.
- Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
- Ability to plan, manage, and execute numerous time-sensitive projects independently or as part of a team using procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to a specialized trade.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex technical documentation to solve problems and provide several options for resolution.
- 3-5 years’ related experience with master keyways, pinning cores, and a wide selection of key cuts and key cutting machines.
- Ability to establish and maintain a record of locks installed, doors keyed alike and separate, key identification/coding systems, and personnel assigned keys.
- Experience operating and maintaining various equipment and tools.
- Excellent time management, organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
- Safety-first mindset with considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. (OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred, but FMDC can provide if needed.)
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.

*This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 2” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate of time and one-half.
